As far as physical size, this small-looking image is one of my largest, at just over 6,500-pixels wide. That’s primarily because it was created with multiple images (about 24) that were stitched together to form a seamless 360-degree panorama.
It was a full equirectangle, though I did crop some from the top and bottom because of distortion. An equirectangular image is a full 360-degrees up, down, and around.
What does that mean? If you were standing looking directly at the center of the photo, both right and left sides would actually join together directly behind you. To see what I mean, check out the virtual reality — it’s interactive.
